Regardless of her exact reasoning behind using that word, it's still such a bizarre choice on the part of someone who has postured themselves as being so keyed into the SJW movement and hyper aware of race relations. But tbh, covert racism has always been a big part of that movement anyway, what with calling minorities who lean right 'race traitors' and whatnot, so... It wouldn't surprise me if it were genuine racism that slipped out in a moment of sloppy, haphazardly emotional thinking.
