No it is not, not being a "girly-girl" isn't that rare ffs and it certainly isn't new. And what is wrong with being a tomboy?

If people keep insisting "Boys are x/y/z and girls are a/b/c" then inevitably when you have a boy that likes and does "girl stuff" or a girl that likes and does "boy stuff" (be that activities, fashion or anything else) then it inevitably causes a mess when, of course, some boys and girls don't like "the right things" -- and then, perhaps, start to believe that if they "like that stuff" and "like that look" then they MUST "be that gender"... because that's what the world has told them repeatedly. When it is in fact just all random established social norms that mean nothing about sex or gender, other than when people insist on conformity.
Yeah Im all for letting kids be what they will be whether that be tomboy, or feminine or whatever but it should come from them, not being told you are this or that .... that to me is a form of abuse

I don't even consider it a subculture. It's just women who are a bit more down to earth. I was like this but I am feminine and into cute also.

Fair enough.

Either way I don't get why some people are finding Tomboys a foreign concept lol.

I saw two people on YouTube a couple of days ago do the same thing as Zizu, only through the lens of Trans identity instead of sexual attraction.

It is strange how so many very regular things suddenly became foreign entities in the past decade.

…I would have said that Willow’s styling…(Pink!’s daughter…)…is a style that Pink! herself is known for as well…that kind of tee shirt and baggy combat/comfy look and multiple generations have had similar versions for their time…I’ve often worn the ‘baggy look’ myself because it’s comfortable and cute…and many females who would be considered as ‘feminine’ in their styling have also chosen shaved or very short hair at times as well…but yeah, I would say that with Willow…?…her style influence is possibly her mom….

Based on what you’ve said you’ve just shown regardless of parenting, they are tomboyish.

Maybe , maybe not ..

Our granddaughters are/were brought up the traditional way … so they are what they are .

Pink apparently uses a different way .. maybe as mentioned above Willow( Pink’s daughter) has simply been influenced by her mum’s dress sense/ style or maybe Pink actively encourages her daughter to be ‘different’ ?

We may never know

On that note I shall remove myself from this conversation … its going nowhere

…her mom may be a style influence in her life but I would say that many other things would also influence… and she’s 13yrs old, I think…?…and going through adolescence and body changes and will go through style changes as well even if Pink wasn’t her mom…through my teenage years, I often wore more baggy dungarees and more ‘utility wear’ so to speak and my mom has always been very feminine in her style … as were every other older female adult who I may have looked up to at the time…

…but also it’s how we interpret a look/style…it’s a cute look as much as a tomboy one…

Ooh a new TiBB SD's top tip! You can make a final post and then say "I'm leaving the conversation now" and then no one is allowed to reply. Why did no one think of it before? Truly genius Livia.

On that note, I'm also leaving the thread now, no need to reply.

OK so I'm not saying that some celebrities (and some parents in general) aren't guilty of this, but...

...where is there any indication of this? If it's just that she's been influenced by her mother's style a bit, that isn't unusual at all, I can't see where there's any indication that it's been led or forced by parent-influence? Unless there's more info I'm not aware of beyond a few pictures. Seems a huge assumption if it's just going by the similar style.

Just do a Google image search for pink and willow, in most of the pics willow is dressed in the same style as her mother. No baggy jeans visible when pink is in a dress...and no dress when pink is dressed more casually.

But they're presumably at the same events so obviously they'll be dressed casually-or-not at the same time... also, again, plenty of young people choose to emulate their parent's style, especially when a bit younger (start to develop their own individual style/group style with friends in the later teens) I don't see how it in any way suggests that her mum is the driving force behind it.

Again, she could be, it does happen, wee boys kitted out in the sports team top of their dad's choosing is a key example, I just don't think it's possible to say either way from pictures whether it's a case of "You will dress like me, child!" or "I want to dress like you, mum!".
