I know this is only internet clout to you, but I feel really hurt when I see political violence in my own country. I thought of her and her family for days and yes, it did not receive a whole lot of coverage. Our media—all of it—has very different priorities than the average American and its interests. These events still take me back to 9/11 every single time and how we seem to have gotten so far away from where we were before our worldview was forcibly changed overnight.
Every political interest group came out of the woodwork to take advantage of our common interest and
still seem intent on breaking us apart.
I think when we don't see average Americans coming out in major support for the country in what used to be a joyful way and mutual way, I think a lot of that has been because we've become so accustomed to seeing our emotional reactions being manipulated and abused for some other interest.
