Except it never happened, what you are referring to is the practice of the family keeping the sheets of the bed when the marriage was consumated, in both the Jewish and Muslim faith, if the new husband decided he didnt like the wife he would claim that she wasnt virginal, the brides family would produce the sheets to prove the new husband had in fact deflowered her.

You or someone you "heard" about the practice you refer to are in fact referring to the discredited works of Osama Abdullah, who while denigrating the Jewish and Muslim faiths used some reference in the Bible to prove this practice took place.

I can't speak for the Muslim faith, but that's certainly an archaic practise in the Jewish faith. It was a tradition that the sheets would be presented to the Bride's family. You know a lot of stuff Shasown :-)
