I can't see why circuses can't carry on without using wild animals like that, there's no need for it.
I didn't say they were just that if they were I wouldn't have too much of a problem, is it much different to things like greyhound or horse racing? they're all just using animals for entertainment purposes

Edit - and zoos as well, they often mistreat animals

Well, the way greyhounds and horses are treated in those sports aren't always great either but I think there's a big difference when it's a wild animal, they're completely out of their natural habitat and way of life

Hmm zoos though, I think it's all a pretty similar concept where you're just using animals as entertainment

Well, I visited Dublin Zoo a few years ago and I thought some of the enclosures they had for some of the animals were disgraceful and not at all adequate, that definitely is something that I don't think is right.

It is a bit sad seeing wild animals locked up in Zoos but it's no where near on the same league as Circuses, they're still left to be Elephants and Lions in an enclosure that is similiarish to their nature habitat and especially with animals that are in danger of being wiped out in the wild, I can see the benefits of Zoos for breeding these animals and trying to keep the species going.
