Absolutely,as you say there will also be men serving time for something not committed too, those accused of rape often spend a fair time kept on remand too while waiting for a trial then the charges being dropped when the accuser was found to be lying, with no apology given to the guy either,even after he has had his name in the papers too.

when you think of rape its of a man rapeing a women.
there are cases where women make up rape alligations for one reason or another,
all rape alligations need to be investigated.
what needs to change is the fact that a mans details are made public
if the police feel that he is a serious risk than he should be kept on remand until his trial.
this crime cuts both ways there are women that have been raped gone to trial only to see their attacker go free.


but its in part the news papers fault beacuse they print rape alligations on the front page to sell papers most recent, dane bowers

Why would you think that's strange? Rape is a horrendous crime, really horrible and women who cry rape falsely, make it more difficult for genuine victims and also, I can imagine it must be a really terrible thing for a man to be wrongly accused like that, it could ruin his whole life even if he's proved innocent. Women like that give genuine women a bad name.

each case is different and you cant just throw it in one pot
her sentence was for lieing about being raped which is bad but it happens,
if you sleep with strangers you are taking a risk
if the law was changed then maybe his life and others would not be ruined,
you cant say just beacuse one women lied every other rape case will be viewed the same.

Well, a person is either raped or they consented, I don't think there's an in between there.

I do agree that people should not be named while the alleged crime is being investigated though.

I can't personally go along with this,if that is the case two wrongs don't make a right, she cannot be given credit for protecting someone who raped her while setting out to destroy the life of some innocent guy who didn't.

I think setting out to do that to someone,whether temporarily or seeing it through to the end, warrants some demonizing of her actions.

umm, a woman or man has the right to say NO at any point. just because you agree to sex at first does not mean that he can do anything to you he likes, she can say NO at any point, and it is still just as much rape. ANY unwanted sex is rape, just because you agree to sex at first does not mean you cannot say STOP whenever you want to.

That's all very true but it doesn't apply in this case. She made up a story that he attacked her on her way home from the gym which has been proven un true by the Police.
