I do think. Behind those judge's desks there were a lot of politics going on. Jim wants to keep Dappy, Casey, Lee, and Liz onside and think reasonably genuine about his comments about them.
But didn't score Ollie and Sam as much as other two judges but could not come across as the bad guy so sweetly said what he said but I think, as always with Jim, he is the master of being double-edged when he wants to be and I think he sweetly made a point- they are actors, they are acting in the house by not being themselves. He said they were good actors. He meant something I swear...
