Yeah, I'm not around much, but I have heard that said more than once lately.

There is a suggestions section on the forum, but a lot of people have told me that no suggestions ever get considered.. so it is a bit pointless asking people to suggest stuff if nobody cares enough to bother with the suggestions.

I personally never liked post counts or karma on forums as it does cause a bit of an 'us and them'.

I'd much rather not have post count or post count awards at all.

It seems I am not alone in that opinion.

Nobody cares about post count, but it is pointless to have it here unless it shows our actual amount of posts. That's all everyone is saying. You could ask the same about why people care about celebrities or why they had pasta for dinner instead of rice, you don't have to care about something to want it.

Idk why we try anymore imho, Most stuff never gets applied. I'm sorry if that sound horrid, but it's what I think, Not meaning it in a nasty way, but literally zilch of suggestions get implimented.

You can't have everything you want, it doesn't work like that look at the suggestions post from Ben yesterday for an example, Jess thought it was her given right to have something added for everyone because her and one other member wanted it, that's just ridiculous...

Smileys - I tried to be fair and add some suggestions from a variety of members and it still caused arguments and moaning.

Tapatalk was a good addition, I wont deny that.

Appeals section was to make things easier for the mods so people wouldn't make multi accounts.

Every smiley that has been added was moderated beforehand, if a mod/admin didn't like certain smileys then they weren't added.

Arcade notifications are nice but there wasn't exactly a HIGH demand for them.

Agree with Josy, seems that often people think just because something gets suggested it has to be added, and also just pick on any little trivial issue to press for the sake of it

It's simply not feasible and unrealistic to have every feature and every idea that gets suggested have added to the forum. That is the case for literally every forum on the internet. Most suggestions do get taken into consideration and as Josy has shown some do get added, that's more than a lot of forums would do

I don't think people really appreciate the sheer extent of the rubbish that gets posted in chat and games. It's not that people would spam it to get their post count up, its that most of the stuff that gets posted in there is by its nature spam. If you're going to have post counts they are supposed to be representative of the contribution someone's made to the forum. Having a post count of say 200,000 with 150,000 being chit chatty or spammy posts in C&G is not representative of forum contribution, it's representative of how much they've 'chatted' or whatever

I'd be happy with getting rid of post counts and awards from beneath our avatars, I'm sure they can be pretty intimidating for new people. And beside, both are already listed on our profile pages.
