No, she isn't stupid. Lotan knows this, which is why he tries to make his gang think she is, he needs to discredit her quickly so they dismiss anything she says in future, he can't have them questioning anything he says or does. He is massively threatened by her. Again, classic manipulative controlling behaviour.
