I would say it isn't even a case of healthy v unhealthy even people that are attempting to eat healthily are duped into consuming large amounts of sugar just due to the fact the labeling can claim the product is 'low fat' it's totally counterproductive and dangerous.

Everything has sugar in it, even bread it has a hundred different names sucrose, maltose, rice syrup, high fructose corn syrup... it's all sugar.

No wonder kids are turning their noses up at veg, their taste buds are tuned into all things sweet, it is literally impossible to avoid it unless you scrutinise everything or cut out ALL processed food.

The next biggest problem is hydrogenated fat, (trans fats)this is in anything from a take away, margerine, cakes, biscuits and doughnuts, avoid them on the daily and you've cracked it. Cut down on shop bought ones or make your own if you want to control what goes in your goodies.

All food is is common sense if you take in more calories ( unit of energy) than you expend you put on weight. If you take in empty calories with no nutritional value ( cake, pastry, biscuit) you have no energy, meaning you move less (after the initial 5 min sugar rush) and you put on weight.

The problem is sugar is very addictive, I really struggle with it and have found myself on more than one occasion pre diabetic....it's easier quitting cigs or booze! Seriously :/
