Of course he didn't have the balls to say it to her face, it was a cheap shot and he knew it - I don't really see the point in offering up the "would he say it to a man about his deceased wife" argument because that doesn't apply to any of the other male housemates, none of them have deceased spouses. He knew what he said was offensive and wrong which is why he backtracked and tried to lie about it.

However, Linda has been gunning for him for two weeks. She's been trying to provoke him into doing something like this and now she's finally gotten her wish - and she didn't like the end result. What was she expecting? So I don't really have any sympathy for her on that front, she's been goading him on purpose for exactly this scenario to unfold; but I feel sorry for her that he took such a cheap shot at her.

I personally CANNOT STAND HIM. I don't like Linda much either but Jim is arrogant, preachy, nasty, homophobic and rude and I cannot for the LIFE of me think of why anyone should support him in here. He won over the general public twice now and no way in the world would I ever pick up the phone to save him. I don't know why people spent so much of their cash saving him. Linda is no angel and she has been contributing to their bust ups also but Jim is plain NASTY and a horrible horrible man. And its my opinion and Im entitled to it before anyone comes shouting the odds at me

I totally agree. Jim likes to poke the fire and then claim he didnt do anything and its all Linda's (or whoever else) fault. He shouldnt have brought it up as it was Linda's husband that committed the crime not Linda!

Sorry to break up your celebration party but Jim has slipped up once and he had good reason to do what he did. He did it the wrong way but he has capped days of torment and now its out in the open, there is some clarity to why she is so bitter, but he is still the peoples champion. I didn't think there was anything wrong with Jim asking Luisa about her being single. What's wrong with that? He could have asked the same question of any of the other single men or women in the house. It's a good question because it's a conversational opening. The fact that Linda leapt onto it and made an enormous drama out of it is entirely about her. I cannot stand her behaviour. She has been spoiling for an argument ever since they entered the house, and Jim has been wondering why. If he feels that it's something to do with the dressing room thefts, then it's not surprising that he brought it up, given the way she had been haranguing him earlier about coming clean about his feelings. She got what she asked for. I suspect that her tears were just another form of trying to get everyone on board with her. Plus she lied when she accused Jim of saying something derogatory when he left the room at one point. She's acting like a sour, twisted old bat, in my opinion.
