The problem with that though is that bank notes expire, so you would have at best 20-30 years to spend it... Imagine having £1 million+ in banknotes you know are about to expire

. The temptation to try to launder it would be huge. Best bet might be some sort of darkweb antique / art deal which you could then later re-sell for "new cash"

BUT that sort of money in cash can only be from something very dodgy.
We had a guy a year or so ago constantly trying to use almost-expired £50 notes from the late 1980's... 30 year old notes, but they were as crisp as a brand new note

. And they were genuine. Refused them though. I was like "FFS I'm not touching that! And I also do NOT want to know where you got it
