Yes i agree with you there, i was also whacked good and proper by my mother, my brother was a massive bully, i was raped and pregnant and forced into a private adoption , i've had more than one violent partner and just like you Smudgie i'm not a vindictive bitch and also like you i can't stand being shouted at - i shut down.
