Yeeeeees please at least back to PS3. I'd play the old COD games in particular soooo much if they were compatible with PS4

Sadly, the PS3 uses a custom Sony chip architecture which makes it unlikely that any suture console will be backwards compatible until they become powerful enough to do it as emulation (which will be a decade at least).

Even PS2 emulation is still not very good.
