It is a bit more important than that though isn't it especially in view of the harassment and bullying of women that goes on in the Houses of Parliament, if Corbyn feels safe enough to speak like this with a camera on him how does he act behind closed doors, the speaker as well has been accused of this so of course he didn't see anything, I agree with your point that they should be concentrating on Brexit, but given Labour said they were going to vote against any deal even before they knew what was on the table they really don't have the best interests of the country at heart, just their own interest of grasping power so even if this hadn't blown up they wouldn't be concentrating on sorting out Brexit

What is telling is that no labour mp is saying he didn't say it, they are all saying jeremy said he didn't say it.

Just to throw another in the mix.
One of my friend's who is deaf and who relies strongly on lipreading and sign language.
States he said person.

So another possibility.

However, it's unbelievable the fuss over this.
Men and women are equal in society yet if she'd called him stupid, most would be howling at her with her backbenchers and voters baying for more.

So for me, nothing wrong here.
He states he didn't say woman.
He stated that to the whole house.

There's no usual personalisation against other MPs that comes from Corbyn.

However, had he stood up and yelled at her she was being stupid.
I for one would have applauded him very loudly indeed.
She's in my view, the coldest, stupidest and worst PM the UK has had in my view.
She was a disastrous Home secretary too.

Yet she gets away with turning very serious issues and concerns affecting the Nation into a pantomime farce.
You couldn't make it up.

Famous deaf percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, who can read lips, is quoted by BBC Radio, The Sun, the Mirror, the Express, the Guardian, the Times, and in our own report for MailOnline she was 'very certain' he had said woman.
Her comments came via Tim Johns, who produces the Jeremy Vine show on BBC radio, and who tweeted: 'I just showed Evelyn Glennie, the famous percussionist, the footage of Jeremy Corbyn in the Commons. She's deaf and can lip read. She wasn't aware of the story and her interpretation of what he said was 'stupid woman'. She says she's very certain.'
Sky News reports the consensus of a 'team' of lip readers contradicted Labour's denials, and that Mr Corbyn did indeed call the PM a 'stupid woman'. Sky says its experts, including former expert witness forensic lip reader Tina Lannin, have concluded the mouth shape for 'wo' for woman is unmistakeable.
Speaker John Bercow said he had consulted 'lip speakers' who believed the word was 'woman', but he added he himself accepted the Labour leader's denial.
West Wing actor Rob Lowe, who is deaf in one ear, also waded into the row, tweeting he had seen Mr Cobryn 'say it with his own eyes'.
Fair enough; I'll conceed being wrong on this one, however...

Stop the press! Politician TELLS LIE in House of Commons .

Come on LT. Even for you, this is a stretch, if telling porkies in The Commons was a sackable offence there'd be tumbleweeds in the halls. Theresa May herself would have been loaded into a cannon on the roof and fired onto the moon.

Regardless it's all shameful distraction. The country is on an absolute knife-edge flirting with economic disaster, and the press is like "Ehmeged forget Brexit, he said Stupid Woman!!!" like it's the news that matters today.

Talk about shameful? It's embarrassing .

if an mp gets upset about being called stupid, they really shouldnt be in the job. For me this just conforms to the norm of let's get upset on her behalf because there may have been the slightest hint of sexism in his remark

I can't stand Corbyn, but his remark in itself was trivial. Losing his cool/temper so easily however, is a big problem.

Well that's the thing isn't it. I doubt May herself gives a stuff that Corbyn called her a stupid woman. I also don't see how the comment is sexist; it doesn't imply that he thinks "women are stupid" at all and that's simply conjecture from people who want to be offended, and want to find persecution in every statement. If he had said "Stupid man" about any male politician, which is perfectly feasible, people would have (correctly) understood that the intended insult is "stupid". Because he said "woman" due to the fact that she is, in fact, female... it's a problem?

Is it not more of a problem that the press / the public ASSUME that "woman" is intended to be insulting even when there's no real indication of that?

Its not the same as a political half truth tho

Here is a man who made a sexist insult to the PM live on TV for everyone to see and when called on it he denied it.

Its as a clear an indication on what lies behind his mask as one needs

(and the deaf man at the TL's work just laughed and said "woman" when he walked in) and everyone cheered - he said he has never been so popular in his life as he was last night on da socials

You think a 60 year old woman playing daft pantomime, in a serious political questioning session to avoid answering her own indecisive behaviour and total incompetence.
Is admirable.
For goodness sake.

I find that astounding from you I really do.

I'll go further, she's an idiot in my eyes.
She's intelligent but acts an idiot in the most important job in the land.

She's been deceitful all through her career, I'm mystified any but her hard-line heartless supporters, believe a word she says.

Even if he did say woman, which I can't say for sure he did or didn't as I wasn't beside him.
If he did though, I'd make sure if I got the chance, to shake his hand for doing so, as to that awful particular woman.

I'm no fan of the SNP either, and that's absolutely nothing like a statement trump would make. The first point she actually makes is that he should apologise if he's in the wrong, which I think we would all mostly agree with.

She's not even partaking in bothsiderism or whataboutism, because her next point lays out clearly exactly what the priority should be because all this pearl clutching over something everyone has done is just a distraction.

You can argue about the last point all you like and everyone is entitled to an opinion, but holding a mirror up to the right/brexiteers who have nothing other than slogans, name-calling, and labels is exactly the kind of thing that should be done.

As if trump would use an accurate description of a policy position to make a point against someone else he disagrees with; and it's false to liken the two. Trump lies about everything, constantly.

The UK government said it was changing child benefit (which is the non means-tested benefit paid to parents per child) so that a parent would only get it for their first two children.

They put a controversial clause in it saying that if a third child had been born as a result of sexual assault then the benefit would still be payed for that child. I think I've read a form has to be filled in to declare it.

It's one of the things the SNP always bring up to say UK / Tories / Westminster Govt. are uncaring.
