The "supersize" obesity problem in the US is down to hydrogenated fats, HFCS and the culture of the food service industry supplying huge portions as standard. Oh and the weird tenancy to add sugar to products that don't need it, like bread and milk. There's not really any mystery around it, these things are already known. But sugar has always been an abundant and cheap energy source in the US so it's sort of baked into (
) their culture.
