The solution I came up with, is that it should be treated like how Australia treats drugs when it comes to games classification. You can depict drug use in a game, you can have junkies etc., but you cannot depict drug use positively. i.e. if your character can take drugs it has to negatively affect them... and things like "Psycho" and "Jet" in Fallout aren't allowed, because it's drug use that enhances your characters abilities and thus can be seen to be glorifying drug use.

I feel like similar rules should apply to rape. Depictions of sexual assault should be allowed, but never as something that could ever be considered "positive" or an objective.


Also just to add to someone saying male rape wouldn't be allowed; there is actually an obscure side-mission in RDR2 where it is HEAVILY implied that your character has been drugged and sexually assaulted. I believe there's a similar thing in one of the early Fallout games, also. So we do get some equality there .

There wouldn't have been an appetite for this game if it hadn't "gone viral", though. The press against it is the only thing that's going to sell it, is the irony here.
