Anyone who thinks the English way of life is not affected by incomers, I would urge you to visit east London. Of course, it would be better if you knew London before. Currently poor people are being ethnically cleansed from Islington and sent out to Basildon because Islington is "up and coming". That means, lots of immigrants and lots of rich people (and the champagne socialists of course, they're taken as read).

You are confusing gentrification for ethnic cleansing. Two very different issues. White people aren't being 'ethnically cleansed' or forced out of their homes by evil people who just so happen to have a different skin colour.

In fact, it's more likely that it's the ethnic minorities that are more likely effected by gentrification, not the other way around.

So true. Even the Boleyn pub has shut down, or is about to. All the lovely old Victorian pubs are going, Muslims don't tend to spend much time down the pub. And as you quoted Dezzy's post, I maybe should explain that I was using the term ethnic cleansing for effect (that's the proper use of 'effect', for Dezzy's benefit).

just as an example of pushing people out, we have a curry house which was very popular in our high street, the Dad has now passed it to his son who has decided he will no longer serve alcohol....so guess who wont be visiting that establishment now it seems like a bonkers business move but I guess the majority of his patrons dont drink now so he knows he can make this change without impacting his profits

Or you can just save some time and stop pretending you have me on ignore when you have slipped up before and responded to me directly.

A lot of pubs are closing down, people would rather stay in with a bottle or a few cans because it's cheaper. It's not a sign of some hysterical muslimpocalypse.

The same east London has always been home to waves of immigrants until they moved elsewhere

London is the region with the largest number of migrants (3.4 million foreign-born people in 2017) How does that compare to the 40,000 Huguenots that came to the UK over 40 years for example?

40,000 over 40 years is not really a wave its a gradual absorption and every one would have trade and would work immediately (or die)

YOu just cannot try and compare today by just linking them with the word "immigrant"

its about as pointless and misleading as the tired " we are all immigrants" rubbish people spout as if that fixes mass immigration with no controls
