I don't get the "extra hour in bed" thing - it's Sunday morning! Unless you go Church or have kids who you need to be up for, surely you just wake up whenever?

how is a 13 hour shift even legal, how alert can anyone be at the end of that length of shift

if you go to bed at 11pm, technically you are going to bed at 10pm so you are getting an extra hour whatever time you wake up?
