Do you prefer to have days off together or separated in a week? I have both frequently, and I think I like having them off throughout the week more. It breaks the week up, however, it's harder to plan things than when you have two days off in a row.

2 days off in a row definitely, infact I think we should have a 3 day weekend for a proper break

I use to work 11days on and 3days off. It worked really well for me. I would get a 7 day paycheck with massive OT on it and then a 4 day mediocre check.

Two in a row. Single days off don't feel like a "day off" during stressful work periods, you spend the first half winding down from the day before and the second half psyching up for the next day.
One of the only positives of working retail was being able to work long shifts and get the full weeks hours in over 4 (sometimes even 3) days. Then they mandated that double shifts were "only when understaffed/to cover sickness", but more staff were needed on Saturdays than other days, so for full-time staff members it was mostly single days off (e.g. Sunday and Wednesday). EVERYONE was miserable with it ![]() ![]() |

I definitely prefer 2 days off in a row as it gives you more time to get stuff done and relax a bit. I use to hate having single days off, especially if it was a Saturday as it meant I would be working the Sunday or vice versa but I much preferred to work the Saturday and have Sunday off.

Two days off in a row. I hated it when my days off would be Wednesday and Sunday for the week as it just felt like I really had no time to myself and the Wednesday would largely end up being wasted anyway.

I work most Saturdays so have Thursday and Sunday as days off typically. I wouldn't want to spend my life doing it as I do miss my Saturdays but I love my day off in the week - feels quite liberating having a day free to yourself when everyone else is at work so no pressure to do major social weekend stuff. I often go to the cinema in the afternoon or go have a leisurely pub lunch or if there's any things that needs doing like shopping, odd jobs etc it feels much easier to do in the week than a weekend or evening. Its nice never being far from a day off as well like Mondays are always a struggle but it's easier when you're gonna be off again in a couple of days

Two days in a row.
My shift pattern goes as follows; • Off Friday (long week) • Off Wednesday & Thursday • Off Tuesday, Saturday & Sunday (short week) This week is my short week ![]() |

the more the better, It's like 1 week is never enough time to relax properly, 2 weeks is needed.

I regularly have 2 days off separately throughout the week.
It depends. Sometimes that breaks the week up nicely. Other times, especially when you have lots to do at home, a couple of days in a row is preferable. |
