Abuse... you are all describing abuse teachers hitting, throwing things or beating with implements ... its just abuse.
What regressive thinking to yearn for those times. I was never hit but I do remember one lad who was always scruffy and inattentive he was sent out and hit, he came back crying, he was ashamed we saw him cry and it broke my heart
