But you're a smart man with a head for economics Arista, if you take a step back, I'm sure you know fine well that we can't be on lockdown for 2 years. Not "we don't want to be" - we economically simply can't.
Also... Covid-19 is going to be around forever, I'm baffled as to where the idea that it's going away at all, ever, is coming from. Even with a near-perfect vaccination programme, all three of measles, mumps and rubella still exist in the population at all times. People in the UK have measles, right now. The idea that any measures can be taken that will eliminate Covid-19 completely is a lie but to be fair, I haven't even heard one medical person or govt official suggest that it's going to happen. We're on lockdown to reduce health service strain and to protect the vulnerable until there is a higher level of immunity in the population, and hopefully until they can be vaccinated.
That's it. That's why we're at home. We're not eliminating the virus... That's not what this is or has ever been about... Viruses don't just vanish. People need to get this myth out of their heads tbh.
