Yes they thought he was a responsible for break ins saw him at a property and then he ran off, they say so they called cops and went to apprehend, older dad being ex-police, there was a scuffle and gun went off.

May be just a sad accident, the courts will sort it out

Like sure, if someone was spotted at a crime scene and then was running, apprehend them. But using lethal force in this situation was going too far.
