When we moved to our new house 7 yrs ago we made an effort to make the garden bird friendly and we have found a new hobby. We were, until lock down, out and about in the countryside as often as we could and had seen ever so many birds. We set off a few months back to see if we could find some red kites. had no luck all morning so went back to where we had parked the car and, low and behold, there on a gate post was a magnificent red kite!
