The ones where the public votes are probably the most fair

Tbf considering The Kissing Booth 2 won Best Comedy Film and Tiffany Haddish won The Female Movie Star for Like A Boss at the 2020 People's Choice Award's I'd probably disagree.

Ok but films are made for the public to watch, if that's what the people enjoyed most (even though they wouldn't be my choices either) then surely that's a fair system?

ah but then you get the National Television Awards and the British public continually handing out awards to Ant and Dec, Mrs. Brown's Boys and bloody This Morning

I think if so, it would have to be a selection of the public who have all watched all of the films ... just because, popular doesn't necessarily mean high quality, and it would be utter trash winning pretty much everything . Don't get me wrong, I actually love trash movies & TV, but objectively you still know when something is higher quality/award worthy.

But yeah I do agree that a "randomly selected" panel of people is always going to be a more objective judgment than an established group with conflicting interests.
