I’m referring to the human side of things here, not just points of law. I see unfairness and hypocrisy in this.

The human side is pretty murky I will agree. However, so was him selling photographs before the wedding. There is fault on both sides but it seems that only Meghan receives the derision from lots of people

That's because she is the one who is the instigator of trouble….its a recurring theme...
If she hadn’t point blank refused Palace aids “who were tearing their hair out” advice to let them help and advise her father after the engagement news broke, those photos wouldn’t have been taken.

The paps were all over him for months after that, day after day. Whenever he had to leave the house they published the most unflattering pics they could and painted him as a slob (he has a big belly!)
In desperation, he spruced himself up and let them take some staged pics on the agreement they would leave him alone.
They didn’t, of course. Whether he got paid for them we don’t know for sure - I’d guess he did - but it’s really not miles away from Meghan releasing flattering pics for her website/business/blog.
How she could then ruthlessly cut him out of her life for good for that, I can’t fathom. Seems the punishment doesn’t quite fit the crime here…..because I can see it from his point of view, but not from hers in this case.
