There are protocols to follow for Senior Royals so that there would be a delay in releasing to the Public. The PM has to be informed, along with the leaders of all Commonwealth countries. Then the press releases go out. All done over secure lines of communication but I don't think it would be this long if he passed last night.

Hopefully, it is just a rumour but at his advanced age, who knows? Hopefully, the media team at the Palace will have got wind of these rumours and will advise accordingly soon.
