Oh guys The Doors is coming on Netflix on Sunday, I've seen it years ago but would definitely rewatch it. I was obsessed with them when I was 16

…I don’t think that I’ve ever seen The Doors movie so I’m definitely up for watching it….there is also an Amy Adams movie on Netflix…(…which has a pretty awful critic review……)…I mean it is quite bad …but it’s Amy Adams and described as a Hitchcockian type thriller similar to Rear Window so it’s a must see…?…even though it might be bad…

…Two Distant Strangers…(…short movie…)….

Spoiler:

….wow….I can obviously see the similarity in See You Yesterday…a very emotionally charged Groundhog Day…?….it’s so provoking of thought of how helpless that would feel …like being told the day that you’ll die but more than that because you have to live it over and over again…?….a nightmare on a loop…obviously it can’t be said that any of the deaths weren’t upsetting but the first one which was so similar../…almost identical to George Floyd…and when the police officer said something similar to…’..I’ve never talked to any of you people for this long before…’….and he really seemed to be getting through to the officer and there was hope that maybe this time…?…but that final shot in the back… a short movie but such a deep movie that really leaves an impact…

I actually liked it. It was tense ant at all predictable and Amy Adams was excellent.

The Woman In The Window

Just watched this tonight

Spoiler:

It was better than I thought it would be, half way through I got worried the movie would feel like a confusing effort. But I'm glad things were explained, especially with her family as that made sense in the end.

As I kept thinking why doesn't the ex husband visit her with the daughter, I actually thought the twist was going to be that she's living in a psychiatric UNIT or something. But I knew something wasn't right.

Yeah, I briefly thought that it was going to be that she had become obsessed with her kid's stepmother/husband's new girlfriend somehow. And then either caused or witnessed her death but I couldn't get that to make sense.

interesting lol , but i got the impression she might have been having an affair . When we saw the flash back to the car crash there was tension , and the husband told her to answer the phone and said something like " it must be him" ( i'm assuming the guy she was seeing) . That annoyed me how she got distracted by the phone though which caused the accident.

….I actually really liked The Woman in the Window …Amy Adams is one of my favourite actresses plus it was an excellent overall cast as well…

Spoiler:

…it felt a little bit like another movie that was made with COVID restrictions because it was so non close contact filming…even when they were all at her apartment with the police officers…?…it was so lovely and perfect for her to have had an apartment big enough for them to be able to do the 2metre distance thing…it didn’t really have me on the edge of my seat like some movies of that type have …but it did have me edging closer to the edge in that it was quite tense in moments…

….I guess the reality of the police officer giving her, her phone to wipe when she was suicidal probably was a bit stretched…and then her being fine and outdoors etc at the end when it would have been such a process for her, which I’ve seen with agoraphobics……but I’m picking, I don’t know why the critics have been so harsh on it, it’s not a bad movie at all and an enjoyable couple of hours spent…

oh yeah. I meant before the reveal that her kid was dead I suspected they'd abandoned her because she was crazy.

But yeah I rolled my eyes at the dropped phone too. Lmao.

Was it filmed in COVID restrictions?
I could've sworn this filmed in 2018, was sent back into reshoots after test audiences didn't understand it in 2019 and then the release delayed and ultimately sold to Netflix because theatres closed?

Then again, I could be thinking of another movie.

Spoiler:

I agree with your point about her suicide note. You would have thought her safety would be a priority after what they'd put her through?

Spoiler:

…no, you are right…the filming was apparently completed at the end of 2018 so just before COVID…it felt like the perfect movie genre to have been able to be made with distancing restrictions…as well as Rear Window, I’m reading that it’s also had comparisons to Copycat, with Sigourney Weaver playing an agoraphobic psychologist…I know that I have seen that but don’t recall much about it…I think that involved a serial case that she was helping with if I recall…

Oh that sounds interesting. I'll have to look out for that.

Loved Rear Window so I enjoyed seeing where the movie followed the tropes from that movie and where it subverted them. I don't understand the critics panning it either, nor the test audiences confusion. It's not the greatest movie ever, but it's perfect for what it is. My only real gripe was seeing so little of Jennifer Jason Leigh and Julianne Moore.

Spoiler:

Although I do suspect JJL was cast to make the audience suspect she was the villain.

Spoiler:

…yeah I’m just reading still about it and the constant delays in the movie release and then there was some reshooting …it’s said that it was a lot more difficult to adapt to screen than had been thought so it could be that some of the other characters parts were cut as well and had originally been planned as bigger…?…
