All hail the Moyesiah

Not sure we even have any Americans posting on here anymore but Happy Thanksgiving anyway!! I guess the bigger relevance for the UK these days is Black Friday tomorrow although I've not seen as many promotions advertised this year
I will be having a mini Turkey roast later while watching this year's NFL games |

Happy Thanksgiving to Americans.
However, I've never actually understood what it is, and how it came about. |

Wasn't it to do with the Pilgrims landing in America and being thankful for their new life/world or something like that?

From Wiki :
The event that Americans commonly call the "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621. This feast lasted three days and was attended by 90 Wampanoag Native American people and 53 Pilgrims (survivors of the Mayflower).

Yeah, I thought it might be something to do with the settlers being thankful for the harvest.

Greedy set of bastards, tucking into a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and it's not even Christmas.
You'd think they'd be able to control themselves and wait for a month. They have no decorum. |
