I'm not and never have called for them to banned.
However I do think organised displays are the better way.

Plus to control the period they go off and also the times.

Guy Fawkes is the 5th November.
Fine.
Possibly even day after on a weekend.

Not for weeks before or after.

Yes have them as New year comes in.
Not all over the Christmas period

Animals have suffered shock and worse with fireworks going off at all times.

They shouldn't even be sold until a few days before guy Fawkes or New year.
Instead they're on sale weeks ahead.

If you saw my Staffie who is a brave and strong being.
With the distress he was in hearing those for hours on end booming noises
You'd maybe understand the unnecessary suffering put on animals.

What it must be like for other wildlife.
Plus an owner of Horses I know has a nightmare time calming and being there for his near panicked Horses with the damn things going off at all hours for days and even weeks.
