As a dive instructor for many years I can say wet clothes do not weigh you down. To do that the water within the clothes would have to be denser than the surrounding water, which of course it isn't. The wet clothes just makes it more difficult to swim ie it takes more effort !!!

it really doesn't matter what people think. They will no doubt find the body eventually, and that will be that
