I don't think there's much danger of his funds being consumed, Bruce Willis is worth well over £200 million and he'll have extensive health insurance on top of that.

I imagine he wanted to keep working for as long as possible. If you look at his back catalogue, of course there are some great movies but he's always done a tonne of absolute garbage as well, multiple movies every year going way back into the 90's. Only maybe 10 - 15 of them are actually good movies .
