Thumbs up Try a dash of salt in your hot chocolate

It sounds like it shouldn't, but it works and tastes damn good! Anyone who's had salted caramel will know.

It's just a generic hot chocolate picture, there may or may not be salt in it. XD

If Salted Caramel wasn't a thing I would have said you're crazy but it is therefore I'd give it a go

That’s true if they’re eating the wrong things or think they’re eating healthily but are unaware of the hidden salt in some things ..

:::

Among the biggest culprits for hiding salt are:

Canned soups, stews, barbecue sauce, soy or Worcestershire sauce, pasta sauce, gravies and some vegetables
Condiments and seasonings, bouillon, meat tenderizer, taco mixes
Deli meats and cheeses, sausages, items that are cured, smoked or canned
Frozen meals and vegetables with sauces
Mixes for baking, pancakes, pudding, biscuits
Packaged starchy foods like seasoned pasta, rice, stuffing or potato mixes and instant meals to which you add water
Snacks such as salted chips, popcorn, pretzels, pork rinds and crackers
Seasonings with “salt” in the name (ex., choose garlic or onion powder over garlic or onion salt)
Packaged baked goods, breads and cereals

First of all ... salt's not necessarily unhealthy.

I'm not a big fan of salted chocolate/caramel etc. personally.

... ... and even at that, half a teaspoon?? That's like 3g of salt, a bit more than a dash .

A bag of ready-salted crisps is about 0.3g to 0.6g so that "dash" in your hot chocolate - if it's really as much as you say it is - is the equivalent of 5 to 10 bags of salted crisps .
