I don't mean to be pessimistic but I just don't think they're going to find it... Not only "not in time" but full stop. I think it's either lost to the ocean forever or, more horrendously, might eventually wash up somewhere if it is still buoyant.

THAT SAID - I also was convinced they weren't going to get those Thai lads out of the flooding caves - so I guess there's still a few hours of hope.

I have a lot of respect for those involved in the rescue efforts. While there is still time, there is still hope, but we are probably at the lottery winning level of luck required now to get a good result.

The thing about oxygen running out is that it is not like an on/off switch. The level of oxygen will go down, people will become unconscious before finally dying and at that point their metabolic rate tends toward zero. Some of the crew may die, but that then allows the remainder to last a bit longer in an unconscious state. So although there is a cut off point this morning, from a life preserving aspect, it could potentially go on for a lot longer, at least for some of the crew

but who says the oxygen inside that sub is still perfectly fine breathable and all that, apparently they have these oxygen filters onboard which work on batteries, if the battery is dead sooner than the oxygen runs out, the oxygen can turn poisonous if not filtered anymore



how could this have happened in the first place? i mean even James Cameron went down there with an entire professional team, with special radar on a boat directly above him monitoring his and his filming crew's whereabouts every second, back when they needed some authentic material for the film



and this one didn't have radar on a boat above them tracking them or what? i call that very unprofessional if so

Not unless there's a miracle - it definitely would be if they were rescued. "The sub was never found" isn't much of a movie ending,and trying to imagine anything about what was happening inside would be morbid guesswork.

Never seen the movie "Zodiac?" That was a movie about the Zodiac seriel killer. He was never found.
