It might seem to be a small distinction but it's really not. That said, I still stand by what I said before - if you can't put personal beliefs aside in order to bake a cake for whoever orders a cake, then step out of the game and make space in the market for a baker who will cater to everyone. Like I can understand refusing to put a groom & groom topper on it - just say, we don't and have no plans to stock those - but they should still make the cake and give it to them to decorate as they please. I know that's not how it went legally. But again - that was very specifically related to the marriage aspect, not just the personal lives of the customers. |

In a job like this you can pick and choose who you work for tbh, it's not an essential service
I'm sure loads of tradespeople refuse to work for people they don't like, they just tell them they're too busy for the job or don't have the resources blah blah blah. That's what she should have said really rather than make it a bigotry issue |

I personally agree with Glenn, I’d have just moved on and went to someone else as I really don’t have the patience or energy to deal with people like that, but I do enjoy seeing people who do have the energy

But I can just see the faux outrage if a gay person refused to do work for a religious person or organisation, there would endless daily mail front pages and seething, dribbling videos from the likes of Farage, Hopkins and Shapiro

The painter wanted to make a stand for sure, which i don't agree with. There was really no need to give the guys a reason based on his religious beliefs.
Wait, is Farage homophobic? I've never seen anything like that coming from him. Hopkins yes, not too sure about Shaprio as i can't listen to him for more than a minute or two as his fast speech grinds me.

It wouldn't even occur to me to go crying to news outlets about it. Just take the rejection and go to someone less stupid.

When the punchline of the joke is two gay men then it’s homophobia. Not at all surprising with this cesspit

Most people are siding with the gay guys. Like i said, the painter was stupid to refuse the work, and even more stupid with the reason he gave.

Well i imagine they've just moved in to the house and the other guy is carrying his partner over the threshold as it were. They're obviously a gay couple in that picture.
Correct me if im wrong, but by looking at that pic i assume they're gay, is that somehow homophobic?
