Voting anybody for their political leanings is ridiculously silly.

Totally agree….sadly people can be very fickle.

Henry has just been a sincere and decent housemate and he should be judged on that alone, not his political lean to.

I don't think that's anybodies concept. They should be eligible to win it. They may just be a less desirable option to win it.

That’s quite true.. most people i know on the right are really nice and decent, down to earth human beings.. the left seem to have more prejudices that they try to cover up with their social justice warrior routines, like oor Trishy

I disagree. ‘All Tories are bad people’ is practically a fact nowadays

In the current climate, it's perfectly fair for people to judge him based on wanting to have a drink with Boris and his cost of living crisis comment. He's a nice guy but massively out of touch

It works both ways though to be fair. Farage is easily gonna be in the final 3 of IAC simply because of his political leanings

If people don’t wanna be judged positively or negatively on their political leanings, they shouldn’t bring it up

Henry does not have a personality defined entirely by woo, so I go based on how he presents himself in the house.

I don’t know why he drew attention to it tbh. Is he trying to make Toryism more acceptable. It’s him that’s created this persona for himself, he’s advertised it as part of his character. It’s his own fault if he divides opinions. This is why many famous popstars never used to talk political allegiances, so as not to alienate a section of their fans.

It depends on how far his views go.

Like for example is he like Harry from BB12 who would brag about loving Fox Hunting? If Henry isn't like that then him being a Tory wouldn't really bother me.

The fact people can’t just accept people have different views and respectfully disagree is crazy to me,
If people on Social Media struggle to accept differing views on entertainment related stuff, then unfortunately it's going to be even worse with Politics due to the serious nature of the topic.

Between the two major parties in this country, the Tories are the party that tries to make Fox Hunting more socially acceptable.

I know there's the Blue Foxes within the party who are very much against Fox Hunting, but it's definitely a more divisive topic within the Conservative Party than with Labour.

It's the dogs that love the fox hunting. It's what's their fun in life.

When you take that away from them. It's the dogs you're punishing.

It's like banning the Lions from Gazelle and Wilderbeast hunting

I know Kazanne doesn't like those opinions I have. And I love our Kaz. And I'm always hesitant to put out those opinion's because I don't really want to upset Kaz. But it's not personal against Kaz, because I would never want to upset her, but at the same time it is business and I'm always honest.

The Dogs get starved so that they'll attack anything that moves.

Hence why unfortunately some people's Cats in the countryside have been killed during these Fox Hunting sessions.

I really like Henry for being himself, he is one of the most genuine and nice people on the show. I think people saying he doesn't need the money are being harsh. The Tory comments also and it being a reason not to vote for him is also harsh.

I did cringe a little when he was bigging up Boris but that is his opinion which he is entitled to.

It’s not secret that I am definitely NOT a Tory, but I am inclined to agree. However, this needs widening out - because not only are political leanings irrelevant, so are tweets made prior to the series, after the series, whether they’re discovered during the series or after someone’s eviction. As is basically anything else that has happened or does happen outside of the confines of a housemates stay in the house

The point of Big Brother is to judge a housemate on their contribution to the actual series, i.e. stuff that happens in the house*, not outside of it. Otherwise there is literally no point in the show being on air. Genuinely.

*I am however open to the point that he’s talked about his admiration for the Tories in the house…

When Henry wins it will remind me of that guy that won that other reality tv show, who was from a privileged background . What was it called now?? about levelling up and a elevator.

So it will be the same thing with Henry , Money will go to money. He doesn't exactly need the money, but i assume all hm's have/will make a bit of money when they leave with interviews, magazine deals etc.

So ridiculous that people care so much about what political views somebody has, as if it defines them as a person

If you notice though it's always those who are against the Tories, you never find the Tories saying "oh they support _ so I won't vote for them"

Says everything you need to know

That's a good point. He probably was cast based on that detail. When it comes to politics in mass media now, they talk about it because that's part of the job description now and what they're cast to do. It has to be that way because why are so many jumping in front of each other to join some culture war bandwagon or show off their wokeness power level? There is a lot of competition and it is very cutthroat. Major studios have been consistently putting controversial person(s) prone to wax poetic about some niche belief system or champion some cause. These main roles act as a sort of spokesperson, expecting they'll mouth off about their personal beliefs because they know that 1) articles will be written 2) people will talk about it/fight online about it... it generates buzz... 3) it keeps the movie/franchise rooted in the current zeitgeist

For BB, they probably created a list of roles to make certain certain types or roles came into the series. Then they searched for people to best fit those roles who would be stable in fleshing out their typecast. Some of them knew too well how to behave in the house. For example, I don't think Jenkin liked how he was typecast once he realized what it was on the first day (Edit: What happened to him actually was unfortunate) I wouldn't be surprised if during their initial talks, they kept bringing it up or asking him questions to sort out how to best get him to loosen up. "Just be yourself", etc They would remind him of important details like that and encourage him to put it in his VT... which maybe he had some input in?

Just some thoughts.

Tbf if someone said on BB that they support the BNP I would be very hesitant to support them, because the BNP stand for extremist views that I certainly don't agree with.

Surely everyone has a cut off point of what's too extreme of a political view to hold?
