Regardless of how "clever" or useful it may seem, it will always be Artificial Intelligence, rather Artificial Intelligence ... if that makes sense

We're not in any real danger of a SkyNet situation, because chances are no-one would be stupid enough to give full independence and agency to tech which can reproduce itself and/or cause harm.

I'm also skeptical about people's jobs being stolen en masse, because that's been a perceived danger since the days of the Ravelling Nancy. Maybe modern Luddites will be smashing AI machines but while I don't doubt it could change things, I don't think it will be the Death of the Worker.
