You've made my point for me by saying 'team. Southgate doesnt put his team in a position to win. Hence why they;ve gone behind in all the knockout stage games and had to force the game. HE then relies on players to create a moment and they did but its not sustainable and its not putting the team in a position to win. IMO that the managers basic job and GS doesn't do it.

Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney etc would do better. The team doesnt need Pep, it just needs a manager who's tactics are not from another decade.

Rooney relegated a team that was fighting for the playoffs until he tookover as Manager. Plus he has relegated three Championship clubs (I'm already including Plymouth as victims of Rooney's Management,) Southgate would never do that bad.

As someone that watched Blues play Football under Rooney, yes it was more entertaining to watch than Southgate's run as England Manager (because it basically was like Football meets NBA) but his tactics were non-existent, that's why I don't agree with you and Girth on that one. Plus controversially, ever since I was getting into Football, Blues are just a more entertaining team to watch than the England National Team, and Southgate weren't the Manager back then. England are just a boring team to watch for some reason.
