Bridle paths aren't exactly kept secret from the public.
My aunt and uncle inherited a piece of farmland which has a path through which the local gentry ride their horses, as do their local peasants (lol) and while they're within their rights to block it off or otherwise stop them ... why piss off your neighbours? When the path they follow isn't near their veg patch or animal den ...
