Yeah it started with her issues with Justin Baldoni her Co star and director from It Ends with Us. She made allegations against him of sexual harassment, then loads of videos came out of her being horrible in interviews and apparently in Deadpool Vs Wolverine one of the multiverse Deadpools Ryan played was mocking Justin so he's taking both Ryan and Blake to court for defamation or something. I don't know too much of the ends and outs or which of them is in the wrong but Blake and Ryan seems to be looking worse

…I’m only vaguely aware of the story/allegations and haven’t read anything in depth but it’s interesting that such a ‘golden couple’ and very influential in Hollywood, I would think….are looking not so great with it all…

Yeah, I don't know, I don't know anything about Justin at all, only heard of him because of all this stuff. I did like Ryan and Blake but some of the things and interviews that have come out lately have been a bit of a turn off of them

…I just googled Justin Baldoni…im not sure that I’ve seen him in anything actually, I’m not familiar with him at all …although his face does look familiar so that’s odd…but also interesting that the two more famous and previously ‘adored’ celebrities seem to be getting the negative stuff…I mean, Blake’s a ‘Hollywood Darling’, isn’t she…and Ryan Reynolds has been hugely popular…

A Deadly American Marriage - its a documentary film, not sure how much coverage this case would have gotten in the UK but it was huge here in Ireland as it involved a man from Jessica's hometown of Limerick. Well worth a watch. I think @Ammi and @bots would like it

…I still don’t know what to think tbh and I’d be interested in your thoughts initially because you’re probably more familiar with the story than me…although Molly and Tom did convicted for a second time, it was still all very complex because the children had then been surrounded by ‘a different perspective’ from their time with their aunt and uncle…whereas when the killing took place…?…their influence was Molly…one of the things that I kept going back to though was the term that Jack used …that his father had ‘physically and verbally hurt his mom…’….that really stood out as being an adult phrase, didn’t it and something that had been related to him, rather than something he witnessed and was disclosing…. and some of the things that Molly had previously said did make her behaviour seem a bit ‘fantasist-like’….ironic that Jack and Sarah’s father didn’t want ever for them to feel the pain of losing a mom for a second time and they ended in losing three parents in their very young lives…I’m so glad that they have what seems like a wonderful family now and are surrounded with love and support…

Maybe I have biases because he's Irish but I think Molly and her dad are guilty as sin. I was thinking the same about the phrasing Jack used when he 10. Also the fact that they said that Jason was drunk but toxicology reports proved otherwise, the fact they found Mollys medication in his system, suggesting imo that she drugged him. Also her own Bridesmad telling the story about how Molly lied about being childhood friends with Jason's first wife (how weird) and also,I thought it was despicable that they lied about his first wife's dad telling them he killed her, how disgusting

…yeah, the police interviews which were obviously a huge part of forming the story obviously, were annoying because I felt that they should have had the text at the bottom of the screen …they often do that but for some reason with this they didn’t so I had no idea what was being said in response to questioning etc….anyways….

…the Martens’ solicitor in general …?…for me he just wasn’t believable that he actually believed the case that he was putting forward and just more a career move that was high profile if he could win a verdict…it wasn’t just inferring that Mag’s father was uneducated, it was so many officials in Ireland when Mags tragically died…the medical staff/the police/the coroner etc…?…they’d all got it wrong and incorrectly recognised a fatal asthma attack…?…I mean, not once through their marriage had anyone who knew them cast any doubts or questioning over Jason’s relationship and behaviour etc with Mags and her sister was present that night and saw nothing other than what was said to be the cause of death and the American lawyer was trying to have the courts believe that everyone involved was wrong, was incorrect and no one saw anything to be concerned about…?…from the start, I really disliked him, it really did feel as though he’d just found an ‘angle’ of possibility that he could put forward and that might cast enough doubt but didn’t even consider any of it to be true, himself…

….anyways, going right back to the beginning but moving on from Jason and Mags…?…right from the beginning it showed that Jason wasn’t sure about moving too quickly with Molly and it was she who pushed it to move at the pace it did…his reluctance was obviously that he was considering the children and that they had suffered the loss of one mom…what if the relationship/marriage didn’t work out…?…that’s not the behaviour and mindset of a ‘controller/abuser’, is it…?…and then he was the one with the children who isolated himself from his friends and family and went to the other side of the world to be with Molly…he left everyone who was his support and comfort, while Molly still had her family…?…does an abuser path not generally take the opposite path and isolate their victim …?…none of that fits or makes any sense at all….

I just feel so bad for the 2 kids, not only did Molly take away their father but her solicitor then tries to blacken his name even more and tarnish their parents relationship by saying that he murdered their mother, just revolting. I guess he thought he could say whatever he liked about that as it all happened in a different country. The whole thing is just so sad. At least it seems like they have a very good and united family with Jasons sister and her husband. Must be so hard for them though knowing that Molly and her dad are walking around free having taken so much from them

I have a very different read on this because I think Justin Baldoni is full of sh1t . Though I don't think it's as simple as the other side would make it out to be either. I think there were CLEAR issues on the set of the movie and some inappropriateness, my honest read is that 1) they potentially got a little too close and blurred the professional relationship but ALSO having gotten the "wrong signal" he was further unprofessional and inappropriate. Feedback from other crew on that movie is pretty divided on "who is right" so it's definitely not clear cut. I suspect Ryan Reynolds has been drawn into it because... well... it's a mess - and it's snowballed.

The Internet has gone in heavily on Blake Lively because that's what they do, the Mens Rights types are (of course) on the Baldoni side and using it as an excuse to go on a tirade, and a lot of women are because of the dumb-old-trope that he can't possibly have been inappropriate because they think he's hot. Her "nasty interviews" read as social anxiety (both Lively and Reynolds have pre-documented anxiety issues also).

The "Nicepool" stuff is fairly dubious/ridiculous because that film would have been fully filmed before any of the drama started, so the accusation has to be that it was made to mock him BEFORE any of this, when Lively and Baldoni were supposedly still friends. The only feasible explanation for that I can see is that Reynolds personally didn't like the guy (or maybe didn't like their friendship) and so put references in Deadpool... but honestly the comparisons/reasoning that it's intended to mock him are paper thin and verging on conspiracy theory, like "one of the shops in the background is a flower shop, and Baldoni used to bring flowers!!!"

tl;dr I think the whole thing is basically a messy and nuanced interpersonal situation that's become very, very public and the internet has used it as mostly an excuse to attack the only female involved as much as possible. Which is just standard stuff really. Again not saying there isn't some mess on all sides but I personally think Baldoni (and maybe partly Ryan Reynolds/the green eyed monster) are a big part of the equation.

Yeah I went into a lot of needless detail but in general it mostly feels like a fairly common "messy relationships" issue that's blown up way out of proportion because it's playing out on a big public platform.

I do love a bit of celebrity gossip though, for my sins.
