And there is a shortage of care workers but he is going to make it more difficult for them to come into the country, I literally do not know what is going on at this stage

You know when he says 'He gets it' he really doesn't, thinks everyone is racist and doesn't want migrant workers, when in reality people want the situation with the boats stopped and the use of tax payer funded hotels stopped, and processing upped and either get them out to work or back to wherever, maybe he thinks we are all too stupid to see what is what I just dont know

I am sure someone at the job centre can help? that seems to be the answer to the current woes, or maybe a disabled person can try out this job

The Labour MP for Kent was just asked by Ian Dale who would fill the care worker gap, and the response was British workers

Normally I wait before acting.
However the last couple of months has seen a great number of Labour members, including myself, just regularly dismissed in trying to get our message across in the Winter fuel payment and the changes to the PIP criteria. Totally dismissed by Ms Reeves. This policy today though I see as well, awful. The shaking of heads of care home heads said it all for me. I haven't a clue what this government is. Not a clue. I had a personal dream to go into politics, I'd just about made the choice that would be with Labour. However I cannot support this now looking more like anti immigration stance of this policy, and the more scapegoating of migrants. My membership of the Labour party, I have terminated today. Jeremy Corbyn today in parliament asked the purpose of this policy, and ended saying was it more just to please the Reform lot unfortunately sitting in front of him. I think he was right to that last point. The UK is now in my view, going down a very dangerously slippery road on scapegoating other human beings from other Countries and cultures by particularly Farage and Reform, for the failure of government decisions taken AND this ridiculous electoral system. I'm now done with politics. My votes now and all I'll do as trying to persuade friends and relatives on voting in future, will be to vote wherever, whenever for the best candidate, immaterial of Party, who would be best placed to beat any of Farage's Reform lot. I really hate their divisive and scapegoating of migrants rhetoric. Jeremy Corbyn, absolutely right today that this is another case of just pandering to their creating suspicion and fuelling hate against other human beings on Earth. Politics now, definitely not for me. In fact it's extremely sad to see where the UK could be heading now. Nowhere nice at all in my view with the usual 2 main Parties charging up the backsides of Farage and the worryingly sinister Reform lot. |

How has anything they've done so far helped the working classes, or vulnerable? Were you clinging onto hope through their actions because you thought they might still support open(ish) borders?

A cynical interpretation is that they are playing 4D political chess moves - boosting the Reform agenda to weaken the Conservatives further, to make the next election Reform versus Labour.
They will hope that enough people won't want to see Reform be the biggest party and Labour will stay in government. |

I compare labour with reform to the way the tories handled ukip under cameron. The tories took back the ukip vote by promising a brexit referendum. What labour are doing now is a very similar approach on immigration Last edited by bots; Today at 08:05 AM. |

I hesitated before posting how I felt now however I've been a strong political poster negatively and positively since joining TIBB. So have now updated my present position. So it's appreciated you understand that. I never in a million years expected the policies now being presented by this government. Now though out of the blue on near scapegoating migrants like the other lot do. Right, I'm off to plan something far more pleasurable, the last 2 sets of matches in the premier league. It is like a massive act of betrayal that's not just felt by me, however a growing number of other members and even MPs. We worked hard and endlessly, not just through the days but planning activities at nights as to the canvassing the next days onwards. When what you've said as the message given on doorsteps is then discarded once power was won. Then that's a real hard blow. Myself I have my own career and will be able to live without politics. However I also am looking at the Labour members who have been members for many decades. Pensioners who came out in the election to deliver leaflets and help the cause as they saw it then. Who now also feel severely let down. The last meeting I was at, the number of heads shaking in disbelief were incredible. So made my decision, not easy, because I don't break loyalty to people or causes easily. However this running up the backside of Farage and Reform by Labour now, was way too much to try to accept along with other policies done which were unexpected too. |
