Can you imagine the frustration, you are standing there protesting about a paedo and unvetted men put in your community, and the police march a counter protest to your face so it increases tension and starts aggro, the government have put these people there, where on earth do you turn There is no law against peaceful protest, and I think that is the issue here, it was peaceful and we can't be having that, the police need it to kick off so the media can report the original protesters as the far right and protest can be shut down

the Police Chief of Epping was the same chap who sent the cops round to Allison Pearson's house (Telegraph journo) for a year old tweet that both had a correct community note attached to it and Pearson had deleted when she realized it was incorrect.

What would that even achieve?

Was the protest mostly peaceful before the masked ones arrived?

the police have many faults, but it would be a hell of a lot worse if vigilantes were allowed free reign

I can't think of any justification for escorting the "counter" protesters there, what could it possibly achieve?

Tension, its like keeping football fans apart, what is the reason for that, so that there is less violence, its clear the police needed some violence so they could arrest a few people and change the narrative

I don't think the main protest was vigilantes, if T Robinson turns up with his mob all bets are off though

you are really reaching now... its really interesting that you are more interested in a bench and being the grammar police than a 14 year old girl, I would imagine if it were a 14 year old boy you would be on page 60 by now of grieving like you were with the bench

People call them paedo hunters and they can be found on social media doing the job for the police.

Are you not aware of the proliferation of paedo hunters who uncover hundreds of paedos a month and hand them over to police?

Ah, the classic deflection, can’t answer the question so you pivot to benches and made-up scenarios. I’m asking where the outrage is for British paedophiles, not for your fictional tantrum. Funny how some only find their moral compass when they think it points at foreigners.

like it or not, immigrants are now associated with sexual assault and worse, and it's not without numerous verified examples. It's also not helped by the fact that boats are predominantly filled with single young men rather than with families.

I don't know what procedures they go through on arrival, but i think at a minimum everyone that arrives without documentation should be fitted with an ankle monitor. There is plenty justification for that

Let’s be crystal clear: I’m not excusing what happened to that girl. It’s horrific, and whoever’s responsible should face the full force of the law. But let’s not pretend the riots were about protecting her. They weren’t. They were about hate, an excuse to kick off, throw bricks, and shout abuse at anyone who didn’t look British enough.

If these people genuinely cared about child safety, they’d be protesting all paedophiles, including the countless British men convicted every year. But no, that doesn’t generate the same tribal rage, does it?

Rioting solves nothing. It doesn’t bring justice, it fuels division, distracts from facts, and turns serious issues into ugly, racist mob scenes. So no, I won’t pretend those riots were noble. They were ugly, and they helped no one, least of all the victim.

what riots? you are concentrating on a few scumbags at Epping while ignoring the peaceful majority, why is that?

Don't get me wrong the police and the government are desperate for riots so they can shut down protests, why else would they escort counter protesters (or professional agitators) to confront them

You make it sound like British paedos are accepted - in prison they have to be put in a separate wing for their own protection; they get the mob-and-pitchfork treatment whenever they're moved into a neighbourhood with families; and the very accusation ruins people's lives.

That's where the protests are - baked into our very hearts and norms. Unlike countries where sexual assault of young girls is tolerated and widespread. Norms which seem to be trickling over here.

Four-star hotel in Canary Wharf earmarked for asylum seekers

According to Tower Hamlets council, Labour intends to repurpose the London
hotel as temporary accommodation for asylum seekers.

On Wednesday morning, workers were pictured wheeling beds and mattresses
into the hotel.

A spokesman for the authority said: “We are aware of the Government’s
decision to use the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf to provide temporary
accommodation for asylum seekers.

“It is important that the Government ensures that there is a full package of
support for those staying at the hotel.

“We are working with the Home Office and partners to make sure that all
necessary safety and safeguarding arrangements are in place.”
