Generally we do try and preserve a topic and that's why we'll post warnings in threads first and delete posts before closing a thread. That's only really a last resort when a thread seems unsalvageable

I got banned the other week for not noticing I had a message in my PMs that was a warning to decease from posting all my old threads with a messgae to delete thread please,as my post.

Now come on, how on earth am I supposed to notice I've been sent a warning PM when I'm concentrating on bumping all my old threads in a huff.
