I dont think people would care that much about men coming on boats if they weren't hanging around town centres, they are just far too visible and an easy target
I agree the Government should (and could) do more. That isn’t the fault of people coming over on small boats. People are bothered by them because they’re being told they’re to blame, and people are falling for it. And you are right, they are an easy target, but not a legitimate one.

It’s the same as when people are told migrants are a risk to society. Last summer almost half of those arrested for protesting migrants “in the name of the safety of women and girls” had previously been reported to the police for domestic abuse.

You have to question why people who have previously beaten up women are out protesting in defence of the safety of women against migrants. Do you think these people legitimately care about women’s safety or do you think they’re using an inflated scaremongering reason to hide their racist agenda.

The governments and media who place the blame of the poor job Government is doing on minority groups are enabling this division.

As I said above, if they sent all migrants who arrived here on small boats back to their country or origin the life of the average Brit wouldn’t improve. Pensions wouldn’t suddenly get a their heating paid for them and the disabled wouldn’t suddenly get their benefits reinstated.

Like I said its about optics, if they were at least seen to be listening to the people who pay their over inflated salaries it would go some way to de escalating the issue, I dont know how it is so difficult for the government to come out and say we hear you, we are working hard on resolving the issues you have, saying we will stop using hotels by 2029 which conveniently is the year of the next GE is not good enough, instead they are calling people racists and far right and generally looking down on on the people who put them there, we are working on reducing your energy bills, we are working on not moving the pension age to 70 if we can, instead of not sure we can afford the triple lock which is just pensions rising by the inflation rate not sure what is triple about it, I dont know if many of them have anything between their ears or they are so removed from peoples every day reality they just dont get it

it's a pension triple lock because it takes the highest value from annual growth rate, annual inflation rate or a minimum of 2.5%

it just amounts to a fair and proportionate annual increase. To suggest that won't be maintained is just kicking the elderly in the teeth

A terrifying encounter for a British mother whose kids were playing in the
driveway when a "migrant" approaches and refuses to leave.

The police arrived swiftly and took him.

A very near miss.
