Default Friday 19th December

This last stretch of work before Xmas always feels like running a marathon while already wearing your Christmas jumper—everyone’s smiling, but inside we’re counting the minutes and pretending to concentrate. Then comes the final weekend of panic buying, when you brave the shops for those “last few bits” and somehow come home with three tins of biscuits, novelty socks, and still no batteries. Family arrives for Christmas, including relatives you haven’t seen in a while, and within minutes it’s like no time has passed at all—same laughs, same stories, same gentle chaos—only now with better food and stronger drinks. Days blur into a wonderful haze of nice meals, festive treats, and refilled glasses, where you genuinely don’t know what day or time it is, and for once, you don’t need to care because routines are on pause and magic takes over. And the best part is realising that Christmas doesn’t need to be perfect—it just needs to be real, shared, and warm, because in the end, the greatest gift isn’t what’s under the tree, but the people beside it and the memories you carry long after the lights come down.

And some quiz questions because why ever not!

In its a wonderful life what was George Baileys original profession before he was forced to take over the family business?

Which European country officially began the tradition of decorating christmas trees as we know it today?

In Gremlins what three specific rules must be followed to care for a mogwai?

Which actor famously turned down the role of Buddy the elf in the elf movie that they have said they have regretted since?

And I will end this with my TV highlights of 2025. And of course its the traitors both series 3 and celebrity. I cant wait for the new series

The Traitors series 3

The Celebrity Traitors
