There is a lighter version a lot of people experience once in there lifetime called lucid dreaming, achieved through similar means. It's basically when you know you are in a dream and you can thus control it.

I find it amazing that when we sleep, we basically live this second life most people ignore.

I hope everyone here knows you actually dream EVERY night? It's only the dreams you REMEMBER that you count?
