Thats called tactics, get rid of the threats to your own acts so later in the competition there is less real threats.

That being the simple reason that Dannii Minogue put them out.
They had more votes than Olly Murs. [explaining this months after The X Factor ]

But Danii Minouge was only doing her job; Saving the act who did the "best performence" from the sing off, and in her opinion it was Olly's(and the public opinion) and hey Cheryl saved Olly too.
