I am going to come from left field on this.
According to the Greek word used, Ecklasea all it meant was a called out gathering, not a building. Jesus did not use a made up word. The word is used of the riotous assembly and in reference to law courts. City elders called out to talk about drainage would be an Ecklasea. So being a Christian, I am in the church, even when I am outside in the open or at my desk at work. What people are talking about here are places of worship built for that specific purpose. Our congregation happens to rent space out at the Kingston Park Community Centre as we do not have our own building. Now since the church is the people, not the building, as the Greek word stipulates, we don't go to church, but we go to the assembly to worship. Simples
