I can't imagine how I was so excited.
I guess it really was a fun thing and I don't regret it and it is good memories. So yeah.. sure, I'm thankful for those opportunities.
You can say it was a great confidence builder too.

Anyways, with this many seasons gone by and over 100+ Housemates and 1,000+ directly involved staff members,
and,
its not unreasonably to say over 10,000 'indirect insiders' but by that I mean to say everyone from sub-contractors to delivery men to the corporation suits to the guy who replaced the toner in the writers offices.
Over the 11 years I don't know I'd guess the number of applicants.. is 100,000 people about right?
Who hasn't seen a shopping centre packed with hopefuls yet?

I mean.. why is that even worth wondering about. Statistically speaking you would EXPECT a dozen people here (being hardcore BB fans gather here) at least a dozen or more have gotten that far!

Bah. That just feeds the notion that ANY link with the production company has access to privileged inside information, which of course to anybody capable of forming logical conclusions, is completely unfeasible. What they let the lower peons know is not worthy of acknowledgment, Do you think the lady who cleans the floors of the houses of parliament has the inside scoop on the list exposing perp's of the expenses scandal? Or perhaps the cashier in your local Natwest has the latest blueprint on the machine that is to drive the Royal Bank of Scotland out of debt and financial ruin?

As for your thinking the majority of this forum's users should be expected to receive a callback.. that's just madness. As you so laughably put it, some here are "hardcore BB fans" and personally to me that should make one about as interesting as a blank sheet of A4 paper. A perfect reason to NOT expect a call.
