Journalists are supposed to report the news in an objective fashion, showing both sides of the story. Feeding the public what they want to hear is obscuring the truth in a way but I suppose that's the world we live in right now. Shame.

Its the only way the news on commercial channels is sustainable, but the BBC does tend to be objective, as does Channel 4 where they take quality over ratings. The latest ITV News campaign says it all, they bang on about how important the people involved in the stories are and Sky News is desperate to be like Fox which is just a televised version of The Daily Mail.
